Monitor Audio MSW-10
MSW-10 is equipped with a potent integral 100 Watt class A-B amplifier. The MSW's rigid, curved and cubic MDF cabinet houses a longthrow 10" driver, which is forward firing to make the process of positioning the MSW-10 as simple and fuss-free as possible. Although designed to underpin the Monitor series standmount and floorstanding speakers with deep controlled bass frequencies, the MSW-10 will integrate beautifully and easily with any compact, high performance home theatre system by adjusting its variable volume control, its wide range of crossover adjustment between 45Hz and 150Hz, and its phase switch. Stereo line and LFE inputs allow the MSW-10 to contribute a seismic dimension to both music and multichannel movie systems. For added convenience, the MSW-10s signal sensing feature automatically turns it on and off at either end of a performance. .

About Monitor Audio
Choosing loudspeakers has always been one of the most critical decisions for anyone wishing to build or upgrade an audio system. It’s a commonly held belief among the cognoscenti that choice of loudspeaker has the most profound effect on the success of any system – more so than the choice of source component or amplification. True, the elements have to be compatible, but the contrast between a good loudspeaker and a bad one at any price point is transparently wider than with any other system component. In a market crowded with loudspeakers, and with auditions inevitably limited to a few brands, it’s much easier to choose wrong than to choose right. The brand that consistently delivers excellence in driver, cabinet, electronic and acoustic design to get closer to real fidelity in any given system is the one, which will inspire recognition in an audience and be acclaimed as very special.
Since 1972, Monitor Audio’s near fanatical commitment to raising standards of performance in every aspect of loudspeaker design coupled with its willingness to innovate has lifted the brand above the also-rans.
Daring to challenge design orthodoxy has been its signature approach. When Monitor Audio launched its R852MD loudspeaker – the first model to incorporate a metal dome tweeter - it caused quite a stir. Until that time, most metal domes were single-metal types made from copper or titanium and virtually all sounded unconvincing.
The R852 used an aluminium-magnesium alloy dome and sounded significantly better and smoother than all of its single-metal rivals. It also incorporated Ferro-fluid damping/cooling of the metal voice-coil former for better heat dissipation and a vented voice coil mechanism. These fundamental and radical design elements formed the basis for a whole new generation of C-CAM™ metal domes from Monitor Audio.
Since that milestone, Monitor Audio has become probably the world's foremost proponent of metal dome tweeters, extending the technology to metal cone bass/midrange drivers as well, with the introduction of the Studio 10 model in 1991
Monitor Audio’s founding and enduring commitment to engineering in all aspects of loudspeaker design found further expression in its acquisition of cabinet and driver manufacturing facilities. At once, decades of accumulated expertise and knowledge were dedicated to the challenge of delivering innovation and elevated standards of craftsmanship to the marketplace more rapidly and reliably than before.
Our success has been demonstrated by successive ranges of Monitor Audio loudspeakers, incorporating key technological advances such as the evolution of the 'Gold' anodised tweeter domes, used throughout the ‘Gold’, ‘Silver’ and ‘Bronze’ ranges today; RST™ - a uniquely dimpled alloy driver cone surface for ‘Gold’ Series designs; Puresound™ crossovers, MMP (metal matrix polymer) Bronze series cone designs and the new ATR™ reflex port design.
Acclaimed around the world, Monitor Audio’s exemplary cabinet construction and finish is regarded as a benchmark by many leading manufacturers.

New MMPII Bass and Mid-Bass Drivers
A high-pressure injection moulding process achieves different thickness at critical points of the cone geometry. As a result, MMPII provides better stiffness and consistency, within tighter production tolerances. The redesigned vented chassis delivers increased dynamic range and higher sound pressure levels. This venting also lowers distortion by balancing the pressure within the motor system. The result is clean crisp bass and even clearer mid-bass for superior sonic performance!
New C-CAM Tweeter
Further development of C-CAM tweeter technology, in particular the profiling of its surround and a new front plate design, brings still smoother response and better dispersion.
New Crossovers and Port Design

The emphasis on sound quality and engineering follows through to the crossover which uses high grade polypropylene film capacitors, low distortion-laminated core and air core inductors. The bass-reflex rear-port design employs a smooth, soft rubberized coating, greatly reducing air turbulence and unwanted noise, for tighter, more precise bass performance.
Monitor Series Models
The two-way M1 utilizes a single 5.5” MMP®II mid-bass driver and 1” C-CAM® tweeter in a system designed to provide exceptional performance and versatility in both stereo and multi-channel applications. The M2 may be stand or shelf mounted. Its new 6.5” MMP®II bass driver and 1” C-CAM® tweeter are designed to deliver punchy, powerful bass and transparent mid-range. The svelte M4 features a 2.5-way configuration of twin 6.5” MMP®II drivers and 1” C-CAM® tweeter. Rigid construction is again key to achieving a clean, un-boxy sound. Reflex ports at the rear as well as the front provide maximum airflow at low frequencies, reducing air pressure than can lead to bass compression effects. The flagship M6 brings still wider bandwidth, higher power handling, greater efficiency and effortlessly realized dynamics. Two MMP®II 6.5” mid-bass drivers provide punchy upper bass while the lower unit handles deep bass The M Center consists of twin 5.5” MMP ®II mid-bass drivers and 1” C-CAM® tweeter. A specially designed crossover network ensures excellent vertical and horizontal off axis response for a large “sweet spot”, and can be powered easily by amplifiers as small as 20 watts RMS. The MSW-10 subwoofer is a compact, 100 watt, 10” system designed to blend properly with Monitor Series bookshelf or floorstanding models, or with any compact, high-performance home theater system.
